Soundfield of sonar antena

Frequency, sensitity and directivity are key to underwater ultrasonic applications. High frequency for example means high resolution, but also low reach being a drawback in sonar applicatons.

Finite element or differences are the well suited methods for the design of sonar antenna and teh calculation of the near field. Extrapolation can be used to determine the soundfield at the point of interest at any given distance.
