The device-related realization of low-energy anti-fibrillation pacing (LEAP) for pain-free therapy of life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias is the focus of the CardioTec group. This group is a joint working group of the Max Planck Research Group Biomedical Physics (Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization, Göttingen) and the Department Medical Engineering & Neuroprosthetics (Fraunhofer IBMT, St. Ingbert). The direct link between the complementary expertises of both departments in basic and applied biomedical research allows an efficient transfer of the acquired reserach results in clinical practice. The CardioTec group is closely collaborating with the Heart Research Center Göttingen.

The working group is equally led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Luther (MPIDS) and Prof. Dr. Klaus-Peter Hoffmann (IBMT).
