The Group Biomedical Optics was founded 1990 to foster research and development on the areas of solid state sensors and microsystems engineering and manufacture products for the market. The activities of the department comprize technical microsystems interfaceing biosystems as well as sensor systems, whose application need a combination of low cost sensors. The department applies sophisticated technologies and processes used for the assembly and interconnection of hybrid, integrated sensor systems.
